Nature First's two semi-mature tree nurseries in
Gloucestershire provide semi-mature trees of exceptional quality
from 18 to 80cm girth to trade and private clients throughout
the UK and Europe.
Our newly acquired Twyning semi-mature tree nursery has over 20
acres of gorgeous semi-mature trees which you can gently browse through to select the exact specimens that you require. Our
5 acre nursery at Down Hatherley stocks a wide range of containerised
semi-mature trees in containers suitable for year-round planting and acts
as a holding nursery for the large range of semi-mature trees that
we import from our contract growers in Italy, France, Germany and
Holland.
To view a small sample of what Nature
First have to offer, please have a look at our online virtual nursery
tour. Nature First supply semi-mature conifers and evergreens
in addition to traditional broadleaved ornamental semi-mature trees. Nature first
also deal with nurseries throughout Europe on a
daily basis and try harder to find the exact species and variety that
you require.
Selection and Sizes
At first glance the way in which semi-mature trees are measured can
appear confusing. Rather than being graded by height, the
circumference of the stem is measured 1metre above ground level.
This gives a more accurate gauge by which the overall maturity of the
tree can be judged. Sizes are in 5cm increments thus 30 to 35cm
girth which translates to roughly 100cm diameter or 4". Nature
First's friendly semi-mature tree sales team will be glad to help you
with advice on selection of appropriate species.
