Cypress oak (Quercus robur ‘Fastigiata’)

This is a narrow-crowned upright variety of our English oak.

An excellent choice for planting where a native tree is required but space is limited.  The dense branch structure and feathered (starting at ground level) branches together with it retaining most of its leaves throughout the winter make it a good species for screening.

Stunning and unusual as an avenue or pair of trees to frame an attractive view

Cypress oak can be grown from seed although vegetatively propagated varieties are more commonly found in nurseries today.  The most popular variety is quercus robur ‘Fastigiate Koster’ which has a regular narrow columnar shape.

Nature First currently hold good stocks of this species in sizes from 18cm girth upwards
