Acer griseum | Paperbark Maple

Native to central China, the Acer griseum is a small, slow-growing deciduous tree often grown as a multi-stem tree or a large shrub. Best known for its beautiful cinnamon coloured, papery peeling bark, this tree provides plenty of interest throughout the year. It has small trifoliate leaves that turn from green in summer to a fiery display of orange and red in autumn. For best autumn colour grow in sheltered full sun. Acer griseum will tolerate most soil, but will not thrive if too wet or exposed. A lovely specimen tree for gardens and arboretums.
