Ilex ‘Nellie R Stevens’ | Holly Nellie R Stevens

Ilex 'Nellie R Stevens' is a splendid American cultivar; a cross between the Ilex cornuta, Chinese Holly and the Ilex aquifolium, English Holly. It has thick, glossy, rich, dark green leaves that are more smooth than spiky, and tiny, white flowers in spring followed by an abundance of bright red winter berries. The Ilex 'Nellie R Stevens' has a neat pyramidal shape and, with its dense evergreen foliage and colourful berries, makes a perfect focal tree great for screening. Easy to care for, this tree will thrive in most well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Vigorous growth, compact habit and lovely red berries that usually stay on the tree throughout winter make this a very popular tree, and a delight for birds and wildlife!
