Malus ‘Evereste’ | Flowering Crab Apple

The Malus 'Evereste' is one of the best flowering crab apple trees. It is a small specimen with a compact, broadly rounded crown. In April the tree is covered in dark pink buds that open into a mass of white blossom; a beautiful eye-catching display, and popular with bees and other pollinators. The leaves are dark green and will remain on the tree until late autumn when they turn a yellow-orange-bronze colour. Masses of small, red and orange crab apples appear in autumn and can remain on the tree throughout winter. They are a great favourite with all wildlife and can be used to make crab apple jelly and jam. The Malus 'Evereste' will thrive in most well-drained soil, including clay and chalk, and does best in full sun. This variety is the most disease resistant and will tolerate pollution, making it a very versatile tree for many landscaping schemes.
