Nothofagus antarctica | Antarctic Beech

Nothofagus antarctica is a hardy, fast-growing tree native to South America. An interesting, deciduous tree full of character due to its unique features. It has an irregular branch structure, the bark and branches are dark brown with lovely creamy-white lenticles. The small, glossy heart-shaped, crinkly green leaves appear in spring and have a sweet herb like fragrance. The Nothofagus antarctica will thrive in most well-drained soil and prefers a sunny position. This is a real 'stand alone tree' that will make an excellent statement in any garden.
