Prunus avium ‘Plena’ | Double flowered White Cherry

Native to the UK, the Prunus avium 'Plena' is one of the largest and most beautiful of the flowering cherries, with masses of double white flowers hanging in clusters April and May. They thrive when grown in full sun and neutral-alkaline, free-draining soil, so avoid wet or water-logged conditions. The Prunus avium 'Plena' has a pyramidal shape that matures into a rounded, even crown with a spreading habit. The leaves are long and elliptical, and emerge with a bronze tinge before turning mid-green then into a blaze of yellow and orange in autumn.
