The Prunus maackii 'Amber Beauty' is a beautiful, ornamental Cherry with all year round interest. It has an upright crown when young which becomes rounded with age, and will reach heights of 7-12m. This tree is best known for its smooth, glossy bark that shines amber-gold and peels off in horizontal, thin, papery strips. Small, white, scented fluffy flowers appear in clusters in spring followed by small, green leaves with a pointed tip and serrated edges. The leaves turn yellow in autumn, complementing the stunning glossy bark. The Prunus maackii 'Amber Beauty' will thrive in most free-draining soil.
