Prunus sargentii ‘Rancho’ I Upright Sargents Cherry

The Prunus sargentii 'Rancho' is the most upright of the flowering cherries; it has a narrow, columnar growth habit, which broadens slightly as it matures to narrow vase shape which does not exceed 3-4m in width. It has single pink flowers which hang in clusters and can remain on the tree for up to three weeks. When the leaves unfurl they are a coppery red turning to emerald green in the summer months. This tree is one of the first to display it's autumn colour and as early as September will give a spectacular show of fiery orange and red. Due to it's size and tolerance of most soil types and also resistance to pollution the Prunus sargentii 'Rancho' is a great favourite for many landscaping schemes.
